Welcome to the fair. This page will give you a quick glance of some of the work I will have available at the AAF. Not all will be exhibited due to space limitations but will be onsite. If you have serious interest in seeing a piece not exhibited, ask and I will get it for you to see or we can set another time.

A little about me

Rebecca Bennett is a contemporary abstract oil painter originally from New Jersey, with a dynamic body of work that has captivated audiences across the country. Bennett’s paintings are characterized by their vibrant colors, soft brushstrokes, and layered application that create a sense of depth and movement.
Bennett’s lifelong passion for art began in her childhood, and she has been studying and refining her craft ever since. She has lived in several different states across the country, which has allowed her to experience and draw inspiration from a diverse range of landscapes and cultures. After settling in Austin, Texas over 25 years ago, Bennett’s artistic career began to flourish. She began exhibiting her work in galleries and art shows throughout the country, and quickly developed a following for her striking and original style. Her paintings can be found in corporate, hospitality, and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. Today, Bennett continues to create stunning and thought-provoking works of art from her studio in Austin, Texas. Her dedication to her craft and her unique artistic vision have cemented her place as a talented and respected artist in the contemporary art world. Artist Statement Using the sensual qualities of oil, I create layered abstractions which explore the dynamics of color, line, and texture. The viewer is encouraged by their abstraction to interpret their experience of the work rather than the work itself. My work plays with the abstracted modern landscape often with a strong horizon line. I use light and dark, space and scale, encouraging the viewer to step into the work to react and reflect. My process is one in which the artist and paint are partners negotiating the surface of the canvas as if the paint had animated qualities. |
